Airlines Not Choosy About Losing Luggage
By Todd Kempinger

If you think the airlines only lose luggage belonging to the “Average Joe”, guess again. Just ask the six American-based professional golfers whose luggage was recently lost by the airlines when flying to Carnoustie, Scotland to play in the British Open. That would include their clubs, too. Or ask Katherine Heigel (Dr.“Izzie” from Grey’s Anatomy) whose luggage was lost last week by American Airlines when returning from New York City to Los Angeles where she has been filming “27 Dresses”.

Airlines are continuing to struggle with the problem of lost, delayed and mishandled baggage, and it’s not expected to get better anytime soon. According to the July 2007 Air Travel Consumer Report issued by the US Department of Transportation, in May 2007, airlines mishandled 5.93 bags per 1000 passengers; a 25.2% increase over May 2006. Summer is one of the busiest times of the year for air travel because of family vacations, sporting events and off-site business functions, which have compounded an already existing problem of airport congestion. Add that on top of other issues such as heightened security measures, long luggage check-in lines and an increase in the number of mishandled bags, and you have a lot of frustrated travelers on your hands.

There is an alternative to help travelers eliminate some of the stress and headaches associated with air travel; ship your luggage ahead. Today’s savvy travelers have discovered a way to completely avoid the hassles of checked baggage by shipping their bags “door-to-door” in advance of their trip. Companies such as The Luggage Club, will pick-up your luggage, sports equipment or goods at your home, office or location of choice, and deliver them directly to your final destination, and return them again if you prefer.

“Travelers from all walks of life are tired of dealing with lost luggage”, says Gene Langenecker, President of The Luggage Club. He goes on to say “Our clients include not only business and leisure travelers, but also professional sports figures, politicians, movie stars and educators from around the world.” So, whether you are a professional golfer, a movie star or just the “Average Joe”, consider shipping your bags in advance and eliminate at least one of the hassles of air travel – lost luggage.

The Luggage Club offers a variety of money-saving programs including a program for Physically Disadvantaged Travelers, Corporate Program for business travelers, Frequent Traveler Program offering volume-based price discounted packages and Travel Agent Program for travel professionals. Gift Cards are also available for purchase. For more information on The Luggage Club, go to http://www.theluggageclub.com or call Toll-Free 1-877-231-5131.

The Luggage Club is your Luggage Delivery Service that collects your luggage, golf clubs or any other items from your home, office, condo, hotel, etc., 220 countries worldwide, and delivers to your final destination, be it one way, round trip or multi-locations when you want, how you want.

Making memories in Boracay

The first time I ever went to Boracay was just after my senior year in high school. My twin sister, an older sister plus her friend, and I filled a giant duffel bag with canned goods and flew to the island, planning to bunk in with our aunt, who was staying at a little cottage called Gunding Torres for P300 a night. The year was 1999, and couples were still running around the beach naked.
